My Blender Journey #1: Mmmm! Donuts!

Years ago, I found out about Blender and thought I'd give it a try. Basically, I really wanted to be an animator and this was a free software so it seemed ideal. I downloaded it, took one look at the program and decided I didn't want to be an animator anymore.
Since then I have heard from hundreds of artists who praise Blender and talk about how user friendly it is and after investing in a new laptop with plenty of RAM and a decent graphics card, I decided to have a look at the Blender Guru tutorials on YouTube.

In level 1 of Blender Guru's class, he teaches you how to make a realistic looking CGI donut. It's a fun challenge because it's all about making the donut look as delicious as possible!

And here's me talking about what I've learned from that course:

Below are some of my own renders. Remember I'm still a beginner and I'm not exactly a well trained artist, it's really just my hobby. I hope Blender will help me get a better understanding of virtual realism and I'm hoping I'll learn a lot more over the next year. My goal is to eventually create a 3D model of one of my OCs!

Big shoutout to Andrew Price for his amazing tutorials. I have already learned so much about Blender thanks to him!
